BURLINGTON COUNTY WORKERS COMPENSATION LAWYER

Mt. Holly is the county seat of Burlington County. It has a rich historical foundation in the founding of the country. Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey in terms of overall land mass.

Records exist dating to 1681 naming the area the Province of West Jersey and later formed as a county in 1694. Burlington County historical Courthouse, built in 1796 is still operational today. The Court resolves chancery and other matters. However, work injury cases were not litigated in any Court in Burlington County until the early part of the 20th century.

Attorney John F. Renner has appeared many times in the historical Courthouse on behalf of clients. The Courthouse offers a historical glimpse into a pre-modern era of law. The Court existed long before New Jersey, as one of the first states in the United States, enacted the Workers Compensation Act in 1911. At the time, this represented the revolutionary concept. That is, employees injured on the job in Burlington County should receive a measure of fairness as they recover from work accidents.

Trucking Industry in Burlington County
As a Source of Work Accidents Before the Workman Comp Court

The trucking industry is vital to the flow of commerce in the United States including New Jersey. Burlington County is a transportation hub for the truckers who used the NJ Turnpike. It is the best-known thoroughfare on the East Coast and traverses Burlington County.

The work environment for truckers however has challenges. Managing long hours, being away from home for days and sometimes weeks and other physical demands can take a psychological toll. Added to the stress is a work accident prone environment. More improvements are needed to ensure greater workplace safety for this vital industry. High worker turnover and an aging workforce also create problems for the future which must be addressed now to avoid a crisis on the horizon.

The old adage: “If you bought it, a truck brought” it is true today and will remain true in the future. The workers comp laws as applied to truckers injured on the job are complex. An aggressive representation focusing on allowing you the time to recover is essential. Choose your New Jersey attorney carefully
